The Director of Planning and Community Development manages the County’s planning department, environmental health department and the community and economic development activities. Work involves proposing planning, zoning and development/redevelopment programs; giving guidance and oversight to community development staff; preparing and monitoring program budgets; and planning, assigning and reviewing the work of subordinate staff.
This position is responsible for the daily operation and administration of the library to include supervision of staff. Implementation of board approved policies and procedures and recommends new policies as needed. This individual will work with the library board to create and implement strategic planning with community members, including library user and non-library user surveys.
This position will perform under general direction, perform a variety of tasks and assignments to implement a program that will insure the sound construction and maintenance of roads and bridges consistent with the County Policy and with Federal and State regulations. Individual judgement and difficult decision making are required. This position will supervise other county employees and will have direct contact with the public on occasion.
