NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Board of County Commissioners will conduct a public hearing on Tuesday, October 2, 2018, at 9:30 AM, in the 1st Floor meeting room of the County Courthouse, 400 E. 3rd Avenue North, Columbus, MT, to consider establishing Septic System Permitting Fees for Environmental Health Department as recommended by the County Board of Health.  The following, including but not limited to,  proposed fees will be considered:  Subdivision lot, resubmittal fees; wastewater systems, existing systems; new gravity fed systems; new dosed systems, elevated sand mount; ET systems; drip irrigations; Gray water reuse, holding tanks; sealed pit privies, new multiple user wastewater system (non-public); deviation from circular; waiver from rules; reissuance of original approval statement; non-degradation reviews, septic system operating permits. The Commissioners will make a decision on Tuesday, October 16, 2018, at 9:00 AM during their agenda meeting located at the County Courthouse, 400 E. 3rd Avenue North, 1st Floor, Columbus, Montana.  All written comments will be accepted at or before the public hearing and addressed to Stillwater County Commissioners, P.O. Stillwater County is seeking Sealed Bids for eight (8) new 2019 motor graders with five-year lease contracts and five-year warranties. Bids may be mailed or delivered to Stillwater County Finance Department at the Stillwater County Courthouse, PO Box 795, 400 E 3rd Ave N, Columbus, MT 59019. All bids must be received no later than 4:00 p.m. on Monday, October 1, 2018. Bids will be opened and read aloud at 9:00 A.M. on Tuesday, October 2, 2018, in the first-floor meeting room of the Stillwater County Courthouse at 400 E 3rd Ave N, Columbus, MT. All sealed bids must be clearly marked “Motor Grader Lease Bid.”

The Bidder’s Package and a detailed list of preferred specifications can be obtained or by contacting the Stillwater County Road/Bridge Superintendent by calling (406) 322-5335, between 7:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday.

No bids may be withdrawn after the scheduled time for public opening of the Bids. The County Commissioners reserve the right to reject any and all bids received, to waive bid irregularities, to postpone the awarding of a contract for a period not exceeding thirty (30) days, and to accept the bid which is in the best interest of Stillwater County.

2. Sealed bid – 2012 wheel loader bucket-mount Asphalt Zipper, Model AZ600B, 4.6 hours, on a 2012 Williams Ocean, model X001801, transport trailer.  Water tank/mount for the rear of a loader is included.  Engine is a 6.7L 6BT Cummins 203 HP Intercooled Turbo Diesel.  Excellent condition.

4. Claim – The successful bidder shall make full payment with cash or cashier’s check made payable to Stillwater County Road & Bridge, and shall arrange to pick-up their item within 10 business days from date of Notice of Award. 


Spring Creek Road, from the North Stillwater Road to Hwy 420 (Stillwater River Road) will be closed due to the Spring Creek Bridge Replacement Project.  The project will start on or about July 30, 2018 and should be completed by October 31, 2018, weather permitting.  Traffic will be detoured to the Miller Road Bridge.  Sorry for the inconvenience of the road closure and thanks in advance for your cooperation.  For further information, contact the Stillwater County Road & Bridge Department at 322-5335.

The Stillwater County Commissioners are accepting applications from individuals willing to serve on the Park City Volunteer Fire District Board of Trustees. The Trustees oversee the administrative duties of the Fire District. This includes monthly board meetings where the administrative business of the district is discussed and acted upon. 

PCVFD Trustee meetings are held on the 1st Tuesday of each month at 7:00 PM at the Park City Fire Hall. Applicants must be a registered voter and a resident within the boundaries of the Park City Volunteer Fire District. Two (2) positions are available, for three-year terms, effective May 8, 2018.
