Nye and Dean, Montana

With a current population of around 300 residents, the community of Nye is nestled up the Stillwater Valley with a one room school house, a Fire Hall, a community church and a post office.  The Nye area was originally settled as a mining community and has always had a strong agriculture base of cattle, hay and sheep.  While all of these entities still exist, Nye is also home to many new housing developments and recreational opportunities based on the pristine river valley.

Nye is the home address of the Stillwater Mining Company, the largest employer in Stillwater County.  The Stillwater Mine is the only platinum and palladium mine in the United States.
